Chris Lee-Smith, Virtual Recruiters Chief
Operating Officer, began her career in recruiting just after a two year
stint with Minolta Corporation in New York, NY as a sales representative
solely responsible for raising a "C" territory into an "A" territory
within two short years.
Her first executive search position, in
1990, was with DataFinder's Group Inc., where she started two specialty
desks recruiting both information technology and publishing sales
professionals. Chris was awarded "Rookie of the Year" in 1991 by
this prestigious New York based search firm. She continued to have
a great deal of success recruiting in these dynamic arenas.
In 1994, she joined Management Recruiters
International, Inc., where she had immediate success placing
rehabilitation directors and senior clinical specialists within hospital
and healthcare organizations. One year later, seeing a strong need
in healthcare for a specialized approach to finding talent, Chris
partnered to create Odyssey Group Inc., a retained and contingency niche
search firm dedicated to supporting hospitals and healthcare systems in
IT, clinical and corporate staffing.
Chris joined the corporate side of talent
acquisition in 1999 when, after moving to Colorado to be closer to
family, she joined Certus Corporation, a premier healthcare technology
services corporation, where she was highly regarded for sourcing and
attracting Data Architects, Oracle Developers, Network Architects and
Security Architects, Pre-Sales Engineers, Web Architects, Developers and
Account Executives.
Chris was then recruited to ThruPoint
Inc., an international IT infrastructure consulting company, to recruit
high level technical consultants and senior account executives for their
Mid-West region. Through her efforts this company was able to
source and hire nine senior level Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE)
professionals within her first year. This was an astonishing
feat given that at that time there were only twenty individuals with
these credentials in the region.
Since 2003, Chris owned and
operated Lee-Smith Consulting, where she provided senior contract
recruiting services to a diverse set of clients including Toshiba
American Information Systems, IndyMac Bank, Wet Seal Inc., and Farmers
Insurance Group. Her areas of specialty have included Engineering,
Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Corporate functions. She has
always been known for filling the "impossible positions".
When she started on the path to building
Virtual Recruiters. Inc., her primary purpose was to create a resource
that would provide best in class talent acquisition services that would
continue to be able to recruit those "impossible to find" candidates.
Anyone that works with Chris discovers very quickly that she is
extremely dedicated to "closing the req". It is not in her nature
to ever say "it can't be done" or "we can't find them". Virtual
Recruiters is very fortunate to have someone in our organization not
only living these ideals every day, but also instilling them in all the
recruiters we train.
When she is not tied to the phone, you
can find Chris doing homework with her daughter, Victoria. She
also is a voracious reader, and loves to discuss comparative religion.
